Fruitfulness Through Abiding In The Word
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
The above verses of Scripture are pregnant with thoughts that guarantee fruitfulness. These thoughts include our oneness with Christ, our productivity, our continual productivity and luxuriant productivity.
Our oneness with Christ is important. Understanding that we are one with Christ gives us room for absolute dominion to exercise our rights in Christ to bear fruits which are consistent with God the Father. That gives us room to act like Him, behave like Him and express His nature everywhere we are.
John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
The ability of Christ in us endows us to bless, lift, guide, direct and navigate the affairs of life, the same way Jesus walked the earth. You have no business to be anxious about anything. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
The next important thought our theme scripture gives is our productivity.
John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Now that you are born again, the Lord expects your life to be productive. You might have been wondering how things will turn out, how your life will become etc, but that is no more your portion. You are now brought into the realm of productivity, fruitfulness and abundance. Think about this. This is what it means to be called to inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
That blessing is the eternal life you now have in Christ Eternal Life is the essence of deity, the life in which we find life and its attendant benefits.
You have been called and commanded to inherit a blessing. That means being productive and effective.
Therefore in your daily walk at work, school, or anywhere you find yourself, remember not to make giving an excuse for non productivity your hobby. Use the best you have to bless and change your world. You have only this time. Make use of your personality. Let the world realize your impact and your changes and innovations. Stay atop, for you are born for the topmost life. Hallelujah.
