THE GOD SUFFICIENCY

Rev. Governor October 17, 2025 4 min read
2 Corinthians 3:4–6 “And such trust have we through Christ toward God: not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.”

THE GOD SUFFICIENCY

“And such trust have we through Christ toward God: not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.”( 2 Corinthians 3:4-6)

You can always strengthen your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ by getting to know Him better.

Which kind of results do you want this year—man’s results or God’s results?

Developing a consistent habit of building your inner man will help you become a better person, a better employer, a better employee, a better businessperson, and a better steward in all areas of life.

Trust means having complete confidence in a person or plan. The deeper your relationship with someone, the stronger your trust becomes. In the same way, your walk with God grows as you get to know Him more intimately.

Acquaintance with God—through the revelation of Jesus Christ—gives you access to the riches of heaven in Christ. No one connects with God and fails with men.

Job 22:21–24 says, “Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee... Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust.”

Ephesians 1:3 reminds us that God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
Psalm 24:1 declares that the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.
Luke 2:52 shows that Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with both God and men.

Proverbs 8:10–18, 35 tells us that wisdom—God’s wisdom—is better than riches, and those who find it find life and obtain favor from the Lord.

A Free and Willing Supplier

Don’t be too busy this year chasing men’s attention that you forget your quiet time with God. Our Father is a generous giver—freely supplying all things to those who trust Him.

If you have Jesus, you have everything. God gave His very best—Himself—to us through Christ.

James 1:17 says every good and perfect gift comes from above.
1 Corinthians 2:12 tells us we have received God’s Spirit so that we may know the things freely given to us.
Romans 8:31–32 declares that if God did not spare His own Son, He will also freely give us all things.

Cast Your Cares Upon Him

Stop carrying your burdens alone.
The Greek word Epirrhiptō means to “throw upon” or “cast over.” Cast your cares completely on Him and rest.

1 Peter 5:7 – “Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.”
Proverbs 3:5–6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
2 Chronicles 20:12 – “Our eyes are upon Thee.”
Psalm 121:1–2 – “My help cometh from the Lord.”
Matthew 11:28–30 – “Come unto Me... and I will give you rest.”

Love Him More

Let your love for God grow stronger this year. When trust deepens, love thrives. It’s not so much about who you know, but how much you know and love Him.

John 14:23 – “If a man love Me, he will keep My words, and My Father will love him.”
Philippians 3:8–11 – Paul counted everything as loss for the excellency of knowing Christ.

No wonder Paul prayed for the Ephesians in Ephesians 3:14–19—that they would be strengthened in the inner man, rooted and grounded in love, and filled with all the fullness of God.

Anything is possible for a person who truly loves God—a love that is inspired by knowledge of who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ.

Isaiah 43:18–19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing.”
Matthew 19:26 – “With God all things are possible.”
Mark 9:23, 10:27; Luke 18:27 – “All things are possible to him that believeth.”

You are never alone—God has partners and helpers for you everywhere. But above all, partner with the Ultimate Partner, God Himself.

2 Corinthians 6:1 – “We then, as workers together with Him…”
1 Corinthians 3:9 – “For we are laborers together with God.”
