Your Labour of Love

March 11, 2025 Life Solution Chapel

"Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope." - Maya Angelou
*Your Labour of Love*

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.(Hebrews 6:10)

After exhorting the church on better things which accompany salvation, making manifest the results of the same, the Apostle, by the spirit, gave another inspiring Word in the verse above.

The word 'Unrighteous' in Greek is *adikos* , which means unjust; by extension wicked; by implication treacherous; specifically heathen. In effect, He says God is just, and there is no treachery or wickedness in Him towards rewarding your labour of love for Him, with Him, through Him and by Him.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

'To forget' in the above means to neglect. Our loving Father will not neglect you...Wow!

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Psalms 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

*Labour of love*

You might have been labouring....but your labour of love is what counts at the end. Love works.

You have great faith? That is great. Great hope? Good. Faith and hope must work in the love environment to build that which lasts.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 2 Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heardy of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Philemon 1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

Which labour are you engaged in?

Why is love a labour? It demands constant consciousness and intentional practice. It demands doing. It demands giving yourself wholy to.(1Corinthians 13, James1:22).

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Labour of love is or are works done by Children of Love/God in love.

1 Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

*Works towards His Name.*

He again qualifies the labour of love as works towards His name. What does that mean? That is works that demonstrated, glorified and elevated the integrity of His name.

Proverbs 22:1 A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment;'...

Remember His Words;

Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

It is always for His sake and His Kingdom. He is not selfish. His Kingdom is everything and He has chosen to set its headquarters in your heart.

Matthew 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 13:45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 13:46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Believe Jesus today and proclaim His Lordship over your life and have eternal life.

Then, be alive and steadfast with your service faithfully.

Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Faithful is He Who has called you and will help you. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.
